Why some people put in 1 5v batteries is beyond me.
Mat 124g battery.
Thankfully the battery in yashica mat 124g only powers the light meter unlike my yashica electro.
The yashica mat 124 is the penultimate in a long line of medium format twin lens reflex tlr cameras produced by yashica and is clearly a copy of the esteemed rolleiflex tlr.
It has been fully tested and all mechanical functions perform well.
Battery or not works fine.
There is a simple film reminder function integrated into film knob.
The right hand side of the yashica mat 124g is simple.
Of course like all cameras from that era the yashica mat 124g took a 1 35v mercury battery.
The meter functions but we cannot guarantee accuracy.
A common complaint with used yashica mat 124 124g cameras is that that meter is inoperative.
This camera uses a 1 3 v mercury battery to power its exposure meter.
The last version the 124g was essentially the same as the 124 except that it had gold plated contacts in the meter hence the g suffix.

Having only 12 frames to fill in a roll is also a positive thing for me because i can fill it up quickly then send it to develop.

Some cameras like the yashica mat 124g have a contact at the edge of the battery box for the connection rather than using the cap as a contact.
Repace with a wein px635 which is the same voltage.
It has the film rewind shutter cooking handle and exposure number window and iso control dial.

Not that the meter is very accurate but i would think it would make it less.
If you have one of these instead of the 18awg wire indicated in the sketch use a single strand 12awg wire and strip off the insulation.
We have installed a fresh 1 5v battery for the light meter.
I did mention that the seller bundled the wide angle accessories but i haven t tried it out yet.
