On the back of the passenger s side cylinder head there is an m12x1 5 port.

These electronic gauges and senders can be wired into your ls wiring harness.
Since older mechanical coolant gauges use a 1 2 pipe thread sender there is no adapter that works on the ls engines with their tiny metric threaded holes in the cylinder heads.
It will be best to drill and tap with the motor on the floor out of the car.
The holes in the lsx series heads use an adapter for the smaller electric sending unit.

For water temperature there is a port located on the right side passenger side.
The oil pressure trick is what i used on my swap however i went a different route on the mechanical coolant gauge.
So how did you guys implement this as its kicking my my mechanical gauge uses a 1 2 npt which does not fit anywhere on the lsx.

Autometer adapter 2277 threads right into place here to get you a proper 1 8 npt port.
You can but you will have to tap the head to a larger thread size.
